Litharge Furnaces

Eagle Litharge Furnaces were developed and patented by a leading independent U.S. lead oxide producer and are engineered for efficient, continuous production of high-purity litharge. The furnaces can produce both powdered and agglomerated litharge.

Designed for demanding industrial environments, these systems economically produce litharge suitable for batteries, stabilizers, glass, ceramics, and specialty chemical applications. Two furnace models are available to match your production requirements, offering capacities from approximately 7 to 30 tons per day. The process utilizes leady oxide feed material and introduces controlled oxygen within the reaction chamber to achieve exceptionally low metallic lead content — typically below 0.05% — while allowing flexibility in feed material quality.

Two Systems to Choose from Depending on Production Requirements

These are continuous production furnaces that use leady oxide (12% – 25% Pb, depending on the required Litharge quality) as feed material. During production, oxygen is introduced into the furnace reaction chamber, enabling Litharge to be produced with less than 0.05% metallic lead and allowing high free-metal feed material to be used.

Automatically Control Litharge Specifications Range & Discharge

Eagle’s advanced PLC control system easily allows operators to monitor all aspects of the Litharge Furnace feed and discharge systems throughout the entire process. When the Litharge is discharged from the reaction chamber, it flows into a water-cooled screw conveyor system to prevent the formation of Red Lead, then passes through a crusher to break up agglomerates if required. After being mechanically or pneumatically conveyed to a storage silo, the Litharge is milled to achieve the final product specification.
